Tucker: Isn't Kavanaugh entitled to due process?
"The Crucible" by Arthur Miller is about the Salem witch trials. He wrote it in response to the McCarthy hearings back in the 1950s. Between the RussiaGate conspiracy theory and the hysteria regarding sexual accusations, it seems that our society is right back in that kind of a mindset. The difference is that in the 1950s it was the conservatives who were to blame. Now it is the progressive liberals pushing us into moral panic mode.

Kavanaugh Did Nothing Wrong
Towards the last several minutes of this video this guy suggests that the hysteria over Kavanaugh by the Left qualifies as a true moral panic. I tend to agree. They are not thinking rationally and are so desperately clinging to their liberal values that they will do and say and believe anything in order to block Kavanaugh. The host goes on to say that although Trump may be a belligerent blowhard, he's exactly what we need at this time in order to withstand libtard bullying.

pcslim: Excellent video. This whole me too movement crap is nothing but a huge moral panic. Our entire country is in the middle of a sexual hysteria that is so irrational that it's just plain dumb! This urge to dig up cases from decades ago and to adjudicate them as if they happened last week is obsession taken to an extreme. Trump is the right person at this time to push back against the insanity of the liberal media.

HERE'S A PRETTY GOOD LIST: satanic ritual abuse, gay recruitment, backmasking and subliminal messages, war on Christmas, sex trafficking, poisoned Halloween candy, 3D printed guns, Russian hackers and collusion, pizzagate, dungeons and dragons, sex offenders, etc. etc. etc. People are stupid!

Celebrities walk back attacks on MAGA hat students
This is not the perfect example of a moral panic, but it has many of the elements. Equating the wearing of MAGA hats with racial hatred is not reasonable. Pretending that the old indian guy had anything close to good judgement or that he should be considered in any way credible is not supported by the facts. Failing to condemn the racists black men who hurled obscenities at the underage high school boys seems like a huge and obvious act of omission. Taking a smirk and conflating that as a sign of disrespect is simply insane. Moral panics happen when people lose touch with reality and a huge number of people in this country at this time have lost touch with reality.

Why they hate PewDiePie
Supporters of mainstream news outlets are in a panic as independent commentators such as PewDiePie receive more views than any of them. How will people believe their bullshit propaganda if there are prominent independent commentators who reveal their lies?

The PewDiePie Populist Revolt
Right of center thinking is not acceptable to the mainstream media. So far Kjellberg has successfully laughed off the attacks launched against him.

YouTube changing its 'recommendation' algorithm
Conspiracy theory is just code for alternative news sources which question the mainstream news narrative. Undermining propaganda is now a crime.

Youtube is Facilitating the Sexual Exploitation of Children, and it's Being Monetized (2019)
This is almost a textbook perfect example of the kind of hysterical thinking that leads to moral panics. The videos that this guy is complaining about are really quite innocuous. There is nothing wrong with them, but he exaggerates and complains with conviction and most people will be persuaded by his antics because they want to be seen as people who protect children from harm. But there is no harm being done here and every single claim of impropriety made by this guy is simply false. However, he lays it on so hot and heavy that most people will be caught up in the presentation. The bottom line is that this guy is a shameless self-promoter using fake outrage to get attention and it's working for him. He has way over one million views, news outlets have taken notice, and advertisers have pulled ads. See how easy it is to start a moral panic? All it takes is one nutjob making a big deal over nothing and all the good little virtue-signalling lemmings take off for a fun little cliff dive!

shadylady: Great analysis. It's just sad that most people are emotionally triggered at the drop of a hat. They will never realize the trick this guy is using to get attention. There is no real problem here, but it is a great manipulation to get views and subscribers. It's not that hard to keep stupid people engaged and that's a trick that big media figured out a long time ago. Most people who still have satellite TV subscriptions have below average IQs. It's a known fact and big media as well as some YouTubers realize that the easiest way to keep a large audience is to appeal to people who aren't all that smart.
