GOP Badly Losing 'Culture Wars' :talk:
Great point made about conservatives pretending to be on the side of "freedom and liberty" but endorsing policies which suppress freedoms and liberties. If the GOP actually adjusts its policies, there could be some interesting political debate in the future.

We used to have separation of church and state but all communist societies view religion as competition. Government is a religion. The crumbling of the twin towers from being hit by a jet liner requires the same amount of faith and dismissal of logic and common sense as believing that god parted the Red Sea for Moses.

International Topless Jihad Day
The culture war in the USA is nothing compared to the culture wars going on in Islamic nations. Those people are talking 80 lashes or being stoned to death. We just talk mean to each other!

"Our tits are deadlier than your stones!"

US Gun Lobby Says It's Fighting a 'Culture War'
I don't see the problem with background checks as long as the categories of people not allowed to own guns don't magically increase over time. Which is exactly the problem with background checks. For instance, if those who have committed felonies aren't allowed to own guns, what's to stop our wise and benevolent leaders from upgrading crimes that are currently misdemeanors to felonies, thereby expanding the list of those not allowed to purchase guns? There are other tactics that could be used to increase the size of the list of excluded individuals and so I understand the opposition to background checks, although in theory it's a good idea.

Should It Be Illegal For Woman To Go Topless In Public?
There are only three states that have banned women going topless in public, but...

Women should be required to go topless in public! That way the fat ones might be motivated to lose some weight! Seriously, there are way to many fat women and not enough ones that look good. But one way or the other, I'm in favor of women going topless in public. It should be in the Constitution!

whiskeypete: Sounds to me like you start drinking pretty early in the morning. I recommend that you layoff the liquor until after five in the evening! ;) I'm against any law that tells women what to do with their bodies and so it should not be illegal for women to take off their tops in public any more than it is illegal for men to do the same. It's all about equal rights and whether or not we use those rights is a personal decision!
