Odd how life in the USA seems that way so much of the time! Although North Korea is certainly worse in terms of information control, you have to work pretty hard to find the truth here in the land of hypocrisy!

If you listen to this guy ( Dmitry Orlov,)in addition to saying the USA is on the verge of collapsing like the USSR did, he says the vast majority of Ukrainians living in Crimea voted to be annexed by Russia. He also claims the Ukranian military wants to join up with Russia's and that they have no interest in fighting each other.
Make Trona great again!

Backtrack Ukraine: Self-proclaimed govt fails to deliver on promises :upset:
Most US backed governments wind up failing since the group of individuals endorsed by the USA worry more about pleasing their masters in the USA than meeting the needs of the people in their own country. Ukraine is going to be an unstable place for quite some time. Any regions that can bail out should bail out. Joining Russia is the only sane thing to do at this time. As for sanctions, they will barely bother Russia, but they may topple the economies of other countries caught in the middle. The USA needs to move cautiously on sanctions. They are very likely to backfire!

Obama & Putin Phone Conversation on "Tonight Show" :crazy2:
The line about ObamaCare was pretty classic! Other than that it was generally funny although the depiction of Putin seemed way off and pure wild fantasy while the depiction of Obama seemed reasonable.

It's hard to say who is more unintelligent, the idiots who have taken over Ukraine or the countries that back these idiots!

Venice Referendum: Crimea encouraged vote to take place :thumb:
Something tells me that a lot of people in Texas are paying attention to this situation. For that matter, it would be nice if Trona could declare independence from San Bernardino County and become part of Inyo County. I'm not sure why all the people in the county would need to vote on this since most of them have never even heard of Trona. It makes sense for only locals to vote in such a referendum. Why should the rest of the county be able to hold us hostage?

admin: Thanks! This is a pretty big topic all by itself! It will probably continue to be an issue heavily discussed in the news for at least a couple months! And like mrfish suggested, we might see more of this kind of thing, potentially even within our own country!

Lavrov: Russia not clinging to G8 if West does not want it
If the other kids want to be little whiners and kick Russia out of the gang, I'm sure Russia can find other friends who aren't such whiny little babies to play with!!!

pcslim: Whiny babies is right! The remaining seven countries should be complementing Russia for handling the situation so well rather than crying that they didn't get their way. Just goes to show that the USA incited the coup in Ukraine and when things didn't go according to plan they decide to cry foul. Typical hypocrisy every step of the way!
