George Will on Controversy over his Column (C-SPAN)
George Will is absolutely right and he pissed off a bunch of people who benefit from the sexual grievance industry. Hence the backlash!
:smack:
Here's a particularly astute comment left to this video:
His statistics are dubious? Um... if I recall correctly, he was using their statistics.

Is this a rare case of the sexual grievance industry owning up to their statistical shenanigans? Nope, thought not. It's more a "condemn first and don't bother asking questions later" thing.

Some of the discussion regarding the George Will editorial is pretty interesting. Here are a few tidbits to whet your appetites:
Yeah, women, and anyone, can and do LIE about rape and sexual assault. They do so for the purposes of revenge, to escape responsibility, to deflect blame, and for a host of other reasons as unique as the individual. Most people, and most media feed this narrative and reflexively believe that no woman would ever lie about assault, rape, or being a victim. And because of this some very evil women exploit both other innocent victims and the system. Women are just people. And some people are evil pieces of shit. Very few men rape and assault women. And very few women lie about being victims. But both are very seriously fucked up and evil minorities that have both the will and the ability to ruin innocent people's lives, and both should be given the attention they deserve, and punished severely and equally.

First of all, it has been shown that up to 40% of sexual assault allegations are false. Secondly, most "sexual assault" cases on college campuses are nothing even close to rape. Most are just cases where a male used "inappropriate" language about which a female complained. Third, false accusers should face the same penalty that those they accuse face. Fourth, accusers should not have their identity hidden. Anyone making an accusation should be held completely accountable for the accusation. I could go on, but instead let's look at some more comments!
--------
STUPID FOOL: Rape really is an epidemic and institutions need to take measures against rape.

INFORMED COMMENTER: "Rape" is now a billion dollar industry that is corrupt. Don't believe the feminist lies about sexual abuse/rape.

Typical of those who are invested (either emotionally or financially in the sexual grievance industry) they make up fake facts and statistics to promote their cause.
--------

Up to 40% of accusations are false. Google it. Pray that the next girl you break up with doesn't play that card.

At least some people are aware of this reality.
How about we talk about the possible reasons as to why College Campus rates are unusually high compared to any other place. Why some Campus will have very low rates (1%) and others will be alarmingly high (25%).

This is easy. The difference has to do with the DEFINITION OF RAPE. On some campuses rape is rape and on other campuses it's anything that an unstable female might find even slightly alarming. Or in other words:
I come from a liberal arts campus. Basically anything can be considered a "micro-aggression".

The video sucks, but here's where the comments came from:

Here's a thoughtful comment left to a recent TYT video:

TYT is so fucking dumb (or purposefully disingenuous).

What is being talked about here is not the ACTUAL victims of rape but the status of being able to consider yourself a victim.

Feminism is founded on this very paradigm. All women are victims and all men are oppressors (or rapists if you want to play that angle). If what George Will stated was false then the institution of Feminism would fall flat on its face because victimhood is a lot easier to sell to women than actual empowerment.

Afterall, true empowerment requires hard work and being the victim requires nothing.

Read any writings that these so called feminist educators post online and it becomes clear what is going on here. They just want to sell the public that we live in a RAPE CULTURE perpetrated by men to control women. Women (as told by feminists) are powerless victims that must use the force of the state to protect them (because they can not do it themselves). They literally turn women into children, tricking them into abandoning all accountability and responsibility for their actions.

Simply DISGUSTING!

This gets to the heart of the problem and is really what the George Will editorial was about. Actual rape victims deserve protection under the law, but the problem is that the legal system has been manipulated to create laws which conflate annoying behaviors into sexual assaults. Feminists have been able to use the law as a weapon to attack men with and many men have unwittingly enabled this misuse of the law. That's the real problem.

Another interesting exchange on the TYT video:
I don't know what country you live in, but in the United States that is assault. It doesn't matter if you're already in if she says get out and you don't it's rape. That is not philosophy, it's the law. You're entitled to your opinion, but that thinking will put you in jail for 20+ as a sex offender if you put it into action.

This is a bit over-the-top. This comes down to a he-said, she-said exchange and the key question is whether or not the man pulled his penis out fast enough. Most judges aren't going to buy this BS and at most a guy will get a couple of years in this kind of situation providing that he has competent legal representation... assuming that he can afford it.

Here's the reply:
You are being politically correct.
Yes the legal definition is how you say it.
There is also something called statutory rape.
It is considered rape if the girl is below a certain age..
In some states that's 16 and others it's 18.
You can have sex in a building that is on the border and if you do it in a room in one state you will get arrested and in the other room nothing will happen.
So please do not tell me about legal definitions.
Forcible rape is one thing.
Having sex and in the middle the girl wants to stop is not by my definition is rape.
If you can't see the difference than I feel sorry for you.
I can't prove it but my opinion that the thing people call rape on college campuses is not forcible rape.
Call it what ever you want.
In my book it's not assault.

And this really gets to the heart of the matter. Most laws regulating sexual conduct are ridiculously arbitrary. Perhaps the state should get out of the business of regulating interpersonal interaction and simply deal with real crimes. A rape should be considered to be a rape because it is a physical assault and just like any other type of physical assault it involves physical restraint or an actual (not simply implied) threat of physical harm or actual physical harm.

I actually know a guy whose son was in a situation like this. The girl admitted that she consented to sex, but claimed that he kept humping her when she told him to pull out. The case never even went to court. He threatened to sue her for defamation of character and somehow the whole case evaporated a couple weeks later. The moral of this story is that you have to fight for your rights or else the legal system will throw you under the bus. The total legal bill was about $5K, but the alternative was that he faced a maximum sentence of five years (plus registration as a sex offender) for the particular charge the detectives threatened him with. If the case had gone to court there's a good chance that the legal fees would have been up around $50K. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense.

George Will has received a lot of undeserved grief for his editorial regarding sex crimes on college campuses. If you actually read the editorial and think about what he said, then you have to admit that he makes some good points. It takes a combination of misinterpretation (or poor reading comprehension skills) combined with over-reacting emotionally to conclude that George Will said anything even remotely offensive. Any intellectually honest person would acknowledge that his comments are socially relevant and should be carefully considered since policy regarding sex crimes and what is even considered a sex crime are completely out of control. It takes either low intelligence, emotional immaturity, or some kind of agenda to conclude otherwise.

Lawyers love the current state of affairs. Almost any encounter can turn into a rape accusation. It's ridiculous and humans shouldn't have to live like this, but legal definitions are so blurry that they aren't really definitions at all. They should be clear and limited, but instead they are expansive and inclusive. As a result, many travesties of justice have occurred.

Rape Culture USA
Lots of misinformation in this video designed to bolster the myth of rape culture. No mention that around 40% of rape accusations are false. Incredible inflation of rape rate statistics. Pure BS masquerading as journalism. No surprise that this was posted by the AJ+ Labs YouTube channel, the arm of the Al Jazeera Media Network designed to appeal to progressive liberals in their twenties (or older hipsters who want to hang out with kids in their twenties).

It's On Us: Sexual Assault PSA
It's good to see that this propaganda clip has been awarded over 1000 thumbs down votes by viewers. It's such a dumb ad in so many different ways. Sexual assault (real sexual assault) is at the lowest levels in decades, but there's money to be made by expanding the definition of sexual assault and making more and more laws to restrict our freedoms. This is a war on freedom, not a war against sexual assault. Any excuse to further diminish our freedoms and of course Prez Barry is all over this one!
