Falsely accused of sexual assault Tucker Carlson fights back tears
Interesting discussion, but it falls short in several ways. Tucker Carlson does not stand up enough for due process, although he does a far better job than any other commentator I've seen so far. The truth is that somewhere around forty percent of accusations of sexual assault are false. That's the fundamental truth that needs to be emphasized.

Sacramento man arrested for soliciting sex from 8-year-old on Snapchat
Despite popular media stereotypes, the typical child molester is someone in their late teens or in their twenties or early thirties. Usually the person is socially inept in some way and impulsive. Basically, the guy in this video seems like the typical perpetrator.

As is often the case in news clips like this a clinical psychologist is asked to share his "wisdom." Clinical psychologists are notorious for hyping the threat beyond reason, thereby making it seem that their services are urgently needed. In any case, in this news clip a psychologist claims that "perpetrators are skilled. Like, they have fine-tuned their craft. Sadly." Nothing can be further from the truth. Although there may be some "highly skilled" molesters out there, most are clumsy and incredibly incompetent. Of course, parents should always be careful, but parents should also know what is real and what is not real so they can at least worry about the right things!

shadylady: Good point! There are a lot of inaccurate stereotypes and most exist due to the way the news media covers these stories. The cases which get the most attention involve so-called pillars of the community and usually these individuals happen to be white men over the age of forty. However, crimes statisitics indicate that most molestations are committed by young men and that the racial distribution of perpetrators when compared with demographic data shows that minority men under the age of forty are most likely to be offenders.

wildrose: There is no doubt that the news media goes out of its way to make middle-aged white men look bad and to rehabilitate the image of minorities. It's the typical social justice agenda and it's a big part of why people don't trust the news media. They bend over backwards to make good people look bad and to make bad people look good as if changing stereotypes is all it takes to change behavior and to fix everything that they think is wrong with the world.

sandman: It does seem that the media works hard to demonize white men and create false stereotypes. Like wildrose said most molestations are committed by guys between 16 and 35. Most actual molestations are reported soon after the alleged event and most molesters confess almost immediately. However, false accusations are extremely common and so many "confessions" are the result of high pressure tactics employed by law enforcement. A plea deal is offered for a confession and rather than take the risk of receiving 40 years behind bars, falsely accused guys often "confess" in order to receive much shorter sentences.

Is there a need for #mentoo? :roll2:
Working hard to drum up more business! Expanded definitions of what counts as sexual "assault" and inflated incidence rates, haven't been enough. They need ads like this to encourage greedy individuals to come forward with false claims to keep their organizations relevant.

Thanks for speaking up. No one calls them on their bullshit and so they keep getting away with false claims and expanding definitions. It's a money-maker for some and an exciting cause for others, but the whole lot of them are disgusting swamp monsters that will disappear if the swamp ever gets drained!

Score another victory for the sexual grievance industry. Not sure if Cosby has a way to challenge the sentence, but he was put away for three to ten years according to an article I read. The evidence against him wasn't very strong, but the social climate is very pro-accuser at this time, making it very easy for a false accuser to score a guilty verdict. This will undoubtedly embolden more false accusations and so this is not a good time to be male and having money makes a guy even more of a potential target.

shadylady: Having money might make a guy a target, but it also means that he can afford a legal defense team to defend himself. Meanwhile the rest of us can't afford even a basic lawyer to help us with anything, nevermind something major.

Father of student accused of rape defends due process
Obama was a failure as a president for a number of reasons, but Title IX which forced colleges to limit due process for those accused of sexual misconduct was beyond merely bad, it was downright evil.
