Russia’s new weapons, nuclear parity and arms race: What’s going on?
Impressive array of weapons. WWIII is still not winnable, but devastation can be guaranteed by both sides.

Russian ships near U.S. undersea cables spark concern
Snip. Snip. Snip.
U.S. and Western officials are increasingly troubled by their rival's interest in the 400 fiber-optic cables that carry most of the world's calls, emails, and texts as well as $10 trillion worth of daily financial transactions.

Will U.S. action in Syria lead to conflict with Russia?
This guy claims that not only does Russia command missile technology every bit as good as that of the USA, but in some cases probably superior. In that case, they could easily take out a few battleships and maybe an aircraft carrier or two. My fear in 2016 was that Clinton would be elected and we'd be in this type of situation. I truly thought that Trump was capable of avoiding this kind of situation, but he's maneuvered us right into this crisis. It's hard to see how Clinton could have done any worse, although perhaps she would have got us here faster. In any case, this conflict was completely avoidable and it was only a result of incompetent leadership that we're where we are today. Trump does not deserve all the blame since there's been plenty of obstruction and undermining going on from both republicans and democrats, but he's the president and he should have been capable of being a stronger and more competent leader.

ergot: I think the USA and Russia will do what it takes to avoid WWIII, but it's hard to say how events will unfold. A small mistake could send the whole situation spiraling out of control and put the world as we know it in jeopardy. I hear what you're saying about Clinton and Trump. I too thought Trump would do better than this. I had no illusions, however. I knew he was an incompetent buffoon, but I at least thought he wasn't as big a moron as Clinton, but this little jam is causing me to have my doubts about even that.

Do democrats still think Trump is colluding with the Russians? I think not. Seems like Trump is taking advantage of that and the fact that people perceive him as a crazy orange haired lunatic in order to gain advantage. He has demonstrated this in the election and always managed to turn it around somehow. The term crazy like a fox comes to mind though there's a good chance I could be totally wrong and we are all going to die!

North Korea's Nuclear Test Site has Collapsed. Appears to be the real reason Kim suspended nuclear testing...

The whole thing about North Korea all of a sudden offering to give up it's nuclear testing program to Trump seemed kind of strange to me but after reading this it makes perfect sense. Also I have to admit I was a little hard on Trump in my last post. When I first heard about the missile attack I assumed that it probably killed 1000's of people and that there was a good chance it was going to start WWIII but to this day I've never seen a report that it has even killed a single person and looks like he just bombed a bunch of empty buildings. Must have been some sort of collusion with the Russians and North Koreans to warn them when and what was going to be bombed in order for that to have happened. Very funny when you think about it. In addition for him showing restraint in gloating about Kim giving up his nuclear program which apparently had nothing to do with him I also give Trump credit for responding to a fake gas attack with a fake missile attack which looks to have led us further from Nuclear war, not closer to it. Had me fooled pretty good.

North Korea’s nuclear test site has collapsed ... and that may be why Kim Jong-un suspended tests
