Vicious Cycle: Thousands in Ohio too poor to pay debts, jailed with no trial
Debtor's prisons? I thought that was something that was done away with centuries ago! How is this even happening in the USA? Corporate greed?

Kanye West's 'New Slaves' Song About Private Prisons
TYT concentrates too much on race IMHO and not enough on:
1) the overall incarceration rate
2) the fact that the USA has the highest incarceration rate in the world
3) that people are often locked up for breaking laws that shouldn't even exist

Mass Incarceration in the US
Talk about MESSED UP! Great short presentation regarding the ridiculous incarceration rates here in the USA. Too much money being made by big companies as a result of incarceration. Is it corporate greed or is it that a portion of the population in the USA is incorrigibly criminal?

Get the truck outta here! Empire's heavy metal rolls on US city streets
This is a pretty scary trend. Law enforcement already violates the rights of citizens way too often and now they're being armed so they can do so even more. Sometimes it seems that we are more likely to be assaulted by law enforcement officers than by actual criminals.

Record number of US prisoners exonerated :mad2:
Once you get past the overly long intro and do your best to ignore the annoying drum tapping in the background throughout the video, you get to a reasonably good discussion about false convictions and the push to incarcerate people even if they're innocent and then to take lots of time in the review process in order to keep those innocent people behind bars as long as possible. Great topic, but I think that RTA needs to improve the presentation a lot!

University of California Dumps Private Prison Stocks
Private prisons are a bad idea and anyone who supports them in any way needs to be called out. In this case the University of California did the right thing.
