It is what it is. Unless you're claiming that the organization reporting the demographics data is deliberately providing false information, it seems fairly simple to take a poll and then to compute an average. Seventy-one seems a little high to me, but it's not surprising that Fox attracts the most elderly demographics. The rhetoric on Fox compared to other news channels seems like the kind of thing that would appeal to older and less-educated individuals. I'm sure there's some guy who is thirty and who has a PhD who is a Fox News fan, but the vast majority of his peers would shun Fox News. On the other hand, there's little doubt that Fox is the favorite of those who are over 60 and who have only a high school education. All that being said, all popular news sources are highly deficient, but most informed individuals would agree that Fox is the most deficient of the bunch!

I don't like Bill O'riley. But I doubt his average viewer is that old. What's the average TYT viewer. Like two? Where did he get that statistic from? http://www.madeupstatistics.com ?

Billy O'Reilly
Not sure where the 71-year-old average age claim comes from, but it's all over the internet. It could be a case of someone pulling a number out of their ass and everyone else just believing it. That happens a lot nowadays. But it's hard to deny that O'Reilly (and Fox in general) cater to and attract a much older than average audience. It seems like 71 is a little high, but it just might be possible! If so, it would seem that the audience attrition rate due to death might be kind of high too.
:upset:
Bill O'Reilly is a commentator and host of the show The O'Reilly Factor on the Fox News Channel, which he calls the "No Spin Zone." O'Reilly calls himself a "traditionalist" and an "independent." O'Reilly is not strongly conservative, and he has ineptly tried to defend Obama against criticism for failing to provide his birth certificate. He is deeply disliked by many on the far left. The average age of viewers of Bill O'Reilly's show is 71 years old, an audience perhaps older than anything broadcast on television. O'Reilly's crankiness is sometimes confused with conservatism, which obviously has far more depth than his show offers. Often the show seems lost on social issues.

Bill O'Reilly Screaming: 'This Is Bull-S&%t!'
O'Reilly melts down when confronted with facts. How a wackjob like this is allowed to appear before a national audience is beyond reasonable explanation. This is typical Fox News bullcrap at it's finest. It makes you wonder what kind of mentally dificient person actually considers Fox News a source of reliable information.

I think the biggest difference between someone like Cenk Uygur and Bill O'Reilly is that Cenk will modify his opinions when confronted with facts and reality. Bill O doesn't care about the facts, he's sticking to his beliefs no matter how destructive or ridiculous they may be. He'd much rather see people suffer than modify his stance on any issue which he feels strongly about. It's O'Reilly's inflexibility which rational people find annoying and which endears him to those who cling to traditional (and sometimes harmful) beliefs.

The biggest difference besides age is Cenk is a democrat and O'Rilley is a republican. Cenk is also fatter and sounds like the voice of Frosty the snowman...
