I wish him all the luck in the world. I didn't mean to sound so critical. It's just that a large portion of our social lives was taken away after 9-11 along with our freedom.

Freedom Days 2016? I never heard how Freedom Days 2015 went and so I gotta ask if anybody knows if the event will be repeated this year. It sounded like a good idea sorta. I mean it at least had potential kinda.

CactusHugger: I never did hear how the event turned out. I'm not sure if anyone even showed up. Not that we need a gathering of wingnuts in the middle of Panamint Valley. That kind of thing is not likely to turn out well, but who knows it might not be as bad as it sounds! Maybe they can get Donald Trump to show up and attract a crowd. Do tea party types support Trump or do they prefer Cruz? Seems like Palin would fit right in too.

Sarah Palin & Donald Trump Country EDM Remix
We don't really need Palin, Trump, wingnuts, or other wackos desecrating our local desert and so hopefully the event was a flop...

The town was founded in 1897. In its heyday...from 1897 to 1905...Ballarat had 400 to 500 residents. It hosted seven saloons, three hotels, a Wells Fargo station, post office (that opened in 1897), school, a jail and morgue, but no churches. Ballarat was a place for miners and prospectors in the area to resupply and relax.

The Mayor of a Ghost Town (Population: 1)
Okay, so Novak is a little out there, but it's still an interesting video.

Rock Novak ex-mayor of ghost town of Ballarat, California
Short, but interesting interview. A little more detail would have been appreciated.
