Tungsten: A Treasure of the Sierra Nevada
I'd imagine that many of you have been up to Pine Creek and seen the big mining operation up there.

The Dharma Bums of Matterhorn Peak
Excellent video trip report! This was last July and there was a lot of snow then, but there will probably be even more this summer!
Telegraph decides to take a group mountaineering course with California Alpine Guides to get the A team all on the same skills tract. Matterhorn Peak of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains is also the peak Jack Kerouac attempt to climb in the classic book The Dharma Bums. In this video we let some of his passages drive our adventure.

VLOG #6 - A Hike to Palisade Glacier
Palisade Glacier (the southernmost glacier in North America) more or less disappeared last year, but hopefully it rebounds this year!

Snowpack survey yields good news
Double the normal snowpack for March in the southern Sierra. Expect roads and passes to open a bit later than usual this year!

GoPro: Skating the High Sierras
If a cool ranger caught these guys with their skateboards, the ranger would probably just tell them to stop it, explain why what they're doing is harmful, and give them a warning. A hardcore ranger would arrest them and charge them with some form of vandalism. They seem clueless when it comes to wilderness ethics.

wildrose: Clueless maybe, but more likely they think they're getting away with something and they're bragging about it by posting a video of their antics. It would be totally awesome if they were tracked down and massively fined. That would be true justice!

Sierra Snowpack Survey - BoraxBill - Not only will roads and passes be clogged with snow possibly into June or July, but streams will be potentially dangerous for hikers trying to cross them. This could be an interesting year in the High Sierras!
