Great year for poppies! Pretty soon things ought to pick up in the desert!

I wouldn't say that this year was a dud, but it wasn't really quite as good as I expected based on all the rain we got. It seems to have been pretty good in some localities, but not all that great in the Ridgecrest and Trona area. I'm sure there were hot spots, but I'm sorry to say I must have missed them!

This lady is from Mesa, AZ. A lot of what she says might work here in Trona and Ridgecrest. Mesa is low desert and we're more like high desert, but there would be a lot of similarities for the most part.

Wildflower of the Week: Lupine!
There are lots of different kinds of lupine and according to this video they're easy to grow.
