mrfish: I think maybe... just maybe... the execs at Burning Man need to develop a better sense of humor. Their festival is a bit of a joke although at the same time it has some value, but like the Quiznos parody says its more of an event for rich people to cross off their bucket lists than anything else. When I want to get away I want to leave the crowds behind. To congregate in masses like this in the middle of the desert seems... well... just silly!

From dust to air: Burning Man’s magical, temporary airport
It's that time of the year again! Crazy things happening out in the desert up near Reno!

Looks like I'll be missing yet another Burning Man gathering again this year. Actually it's not even on my bucket list. The desert is a great place to get away from humanity and these people completely ruin that aspect of things up in the desert near Reno for the duration of their event!

Burning Man 2016 - Best moments
I'm in agreement with mrfish: Solitude is what is wonderful about the desert. Just the same Burning Man is an interesting event and although I wouldn't want to be there, it is interesting to see these reports which show a little about what the experience is like.

Watch Firenadoes sprout from Burning Man art project
More interesting sights from the desert encampment for confused hippies who like techno dance music and odd art projects.

ergot: That's right. I almost forgot about that little festival. Always something interesting from the Black Desert of Nevada this time of year!

camel: MUDDY MAN is a good one for this year. I wonder if there is an actual event somewhere on the planet that goes by that name. I hear that not only was it a muddy mess this year, but participants left behind mountains of trash as a result of their desperation to escape the mud.
