Desegregation isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as the underlying problems are addressed. The important thing to realize is that desegregation didn't really address the real problems. Some form of compensatory education needs to be offered and whether it's in a desegregated school setting is really immaterial. Desegregation made the liberals feel good about themselves and their ability to force others to do what they want them to. It stroked their ego, but that's really about all it did.
