Opt-Out Movement Enters Year Four
In most states parents have the option of opting out of standardized testing.
Testing is a waste of time and resources.
Therefore, parents should take advantage of the opt-out option!

wildrose - If I were a parent I'd exercise that option or else I'd just have my kids stay home sick on testing days. I'm completely against standardized testing except for kids graduating from high school to certify that the kids really did their work while going through the school system.

Cursive making a comeback? :roll2:
I really don't think cursive has a snowflake's chance in hell of making a comeback. This video is about one nutcase principal who thinks cursive is worth learning. Lots of weak reasons provided, but everyone else realizes that it's a waste of time!

NC school district cancels classes for 'Day Without a Woman'
The responsible women who went to work anyways had to find babysitters since school was unexpectedly closed thanks to the self-righteous bitches selfishly staying home from work and causing problems for other people.

shadylady: IMO cursive is not a waste of time, BUT there are more important skills and concepts that need to be taught. As far as a list of priorities goes, cursive would be pretty low on the list. But that's not to say that no time at all should be spent on it.

For some reason I can not use the term cursive without thinking of cursing. I wonder if any parents ever raised objection to their children learning cursive, thinking it had to do with cursing. "Today they taught us how to use cursive in school!" "Is that where you learned to use such foul language? I'm calling the principal to complain!"
