panamint_patty: Absolutely I agree with you! The Black protesters should be arrested for harassing teens with obscenities. The delusional Indian guy should be ridiculed for attempting to intimidate the teens. The teens should be applauded for making the best of a bad situation. As for all the media pundits criticizing the kids, THE CAN KISS MY CRUSTY OLD ASS!

Tucker: Ruling class was wrong about Covington students
They say this is a teachable moment and indeed it's a perfect illustration of what is called "facecrime" in the book "1984" by George Orwell. And by the way, the drum beating Indian guy who harassed the kid wearing the MAGA hat told a whole bunch of lies and turns out to be a real scumbag!

We Have to Take a Stand
An Orwellian moment which absolutely does provide important lessons. Hopefully high school teachers take advantage of this event to help students understand the relevance of George Orwell's famous book.
Nineteen Eighty-Four, often published as 1984, is a dystopian novel by English writer George Orwell published in June 1949. The novel is set in the year 1984 when most of the world population have become victims of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance and propaganda. In the novel, Great Britain has become a province of a superstate named Oceania. Oceania is ruled by the "Party", who employ the "Thought Police" to persecute individualism and independent thinking.

That description sounds just a little bit too much like the world today!

1984 - Definitely relevant, but I'm willing to bet that very few teachers will make the connection. Not saying that they're all a bunch of airheads, but most are infected with the liberal pathogen!

Not all teachers are libtard airheads, especially out here in eastern California, but you go to the coast and that's pretty much exactly an accurate description. Not sure how kids have much of a chance to learn to think independently when they're being indoctrinated by libtards, but as they say, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Libtards seem to think the teachable moment that stands out as a result of the MAGA kids incident has to do with race relations. They're completely wrong. The FACECRIME angle is actually the take away lesson from the incident. The whole idea of attempting to stigmatize, silence, and marginalize entire groups of people just because they support the current president is spectacularly bizarre!

In the era of spellcheck and auto-correct, does it matter that my son can’t spell?
Yes, of course, being able to spell words correctly will always be an advantage. Technology may help people catch spelling errors, but spelling still matters.
Most kids now learn spelling in kindergarten through second grade as part of bigger topics like phonics and reading. That makes sense: Good readers are usually good spellers.

That being said, spelling should be part of the curriculum at least through eighth grade.

wildrose: Some argue that learning arithmetic is no longer necessary either. Lazy, stupid people always seem to think that they can get away without a proper education. There may be a few exceptions, by 99 percent of them wind up with crappy jobs or on welfare. Whether it's spelling or basic arithmetic, it all matters!

Sacramento teachers union requests investigation into school district
It looks like a school district up north is in big financial trouble. Mismanagement of funds often leads to that kind of a situation!

Teacher Mocks Student for His ADD?
Obviously this was meant as a joke and a very fun and friendly joke at that. For these people to twist it around as if it's something negative shows that they have HDD (Humor Deficit Disorder). When people lose their sense of humor you wind up with pathetic whining as we see in this short video clip.
