Bananas Are Losing the War on Fungus
Could bananas as we all know them now perish?

No bananas? I don't think I could live without bananas. I don't actually eat them everyday. Maybe I average 3 or 4 a week. It's just one of those foods that's almost always in the house and it's always been that way as long as I can remember!

Yes, we have no bananas! We have no bananas today! Isn't there a song that goes a little something like that? When they are gone, I will definitely miss them, but I think it's safe to assume that they'll remain available and that this is just a case of media hype.

Predicting food trends for 2016
This guy who works for the McCormick spice company talks about some exotic flavors we might see in 2016. This might be more of foodie thing than a regular person thing, but possibly we'll be seeing some new and exotic dishes become available at restaurants and in the frozen food aisle.

How Chipotle made hundreds of people barf
You'd think that a restaurant chain would be able to do a better job keeping their food disease free!

Apparently Russians like popcorn too. National Popcorn Day was last week. Maybe it should be changed to World Popcorn Day! It's one thing everyone around the world might be able to agree on!

dilbert: I think the same can be said about ice cream, cake, cookies, candy, potato chips, corn chips, beer, and just about any other food item that is popular. I think pretty much everybody agrees that food is good and that drinks are good. Which is actually a problem since when those things are in short supply, people tend to fight over them!

From McDonald's To Organic Valley, You're Probably Eating Wood Pulp
Well, this is not necessarily a completely bad thing. At least it adds more fiber to the diet! :yum2:
Cellulose is basically plant fiber, and one of the most common sources is wood pulp. Manufacturers grind up the wood and extract the cellulose. But there's not much new here. The FDA long ago green-lighted the use of added cellulose in foodstuffs. And, in our bodies this cellulose passes right through our GI tracts, virtually unabsorbed.
