California: Common Garden Weeds Here's a useful site that might help you identify some of those pesky weeds that show up uninvited in your yard! LINK: http://www.preen.com/weeds/ca
The wonderful world of weeds! Living in the desert we don't have to deal with the toughest weeds, but we do get a few. The hardest one to get rid of is bermuda grass or at least that's been my experience anyway. Most other weeds around here are pretty easy to kill off. Friends who live in wetter climates have to deal with much more pernicious weeds!

A friend of mine swears by Roundup to kill weeds. I don't think he knows the name of a single one of them, but if something starts growing where he doesn't want it to grow he just blasts it with some Roundup and bam it's done. I'm a little bit reluctant to use any kind of chemical, but for some people there's a chemical solution to every problem!

Phantom footprints found on hillside of Westside Parkway near toxic weed Odd story about some jimson weed growing by the highway. I like the big white flowers and don't really see it as a weed at all, but apparently officially it is considered not only a weed, but a toxic weed.

Back in '84 a couple of friends wanted to fry from eating some them seeds. The first friend but a bucket on his head and walked in to a stranger house. When the sheriff showed up he was eating the potato chips (leaves) from the tree in the front yard cops beat him up and of the the Bakersfield Jail. The second friend was there tripping when the cops showed up. he broke the first set of cuffs they put on him and he was beaten too. Friend on got out of jail a day earlier, but not before he sobered, Reports was he was picking up the cigarette butts and saving them thinking they were roaches from a joint. Friend two had to stay an extra day because when being checked if he had sobered and they said they were going to release him he asked if his dog was going to be released with him too. The dog was home safe with granny.
