The real question here is whether or not the gate on Trona-Wildrose Road is open or locked shut.

California Desert Protection Bill passes in House and Senate
This includes an expansion for DVNP of over 35,000 acres!

California Desert Protection: It's good to see more land being protected and available for low impact forms of recreation. I'm in favor of setting much more land aside in this manner and hope that the proper authorities will be able to properly keep the areas safe and free of damage caused by less evolved members of the public.

deathvalleyjake: More public land for non-destructive recreational uses is a good thing. But keep access open so people can enjoy it. However, it must be stressed that enjoying the land does not mean destroying the land and that's a concept that is difficult for many people to grasp.
