High temperatures equals higher crime rates :sun:
Wildfires aren't the only thing to worry about during the summer!

Sheriff: Lightning hits Coloroado hikers, dog killed
I think these hikers learned the lesson that summer can be a lot of fun, but there are also dangers that can ruin the fun.

Days over 100F in June: 19
There was an 18-day run of highs over 100F from June 13 through June 30 (inclusive). July 1st was under 100F and so that ended the string of consecutive days over 100F.

So far July has six days over 100F and the last four have had highs below 100F. The highest highs for June were 112F on the 19th and 20th. The forecast for July shows a day that might hit 111F. So, June might wind up being hotter than July, but we've still got a ways to go and so we'll see!

North Fire Is 45% Contained After Burning 3,500 Acres Near Cajon Pass; Evacuations Lifted
Cajon Pass can be one heck of a traffic jam, but apparently it was a lot worse these last couple days!
The North Fire burning near the Cajon Pass and Baldy Mesa areas stood at 3,500 acres and with 45 percent containment Saturday after burning multiple homes and at least 44 vehicles, and forcing evacuations and the temporary closure of the 15 Freeway, officials said.
