A look at Snapchat's porn bot
Okay most are just nude pics, but some of it might be actual porn. But whether it's just nudies or actual porn it's fun to see what people are up to!!!

Porn On The Brain :prof:
See if you can list all the tidbits of misinformation presented in this "documentary" purporting to be representing the facts in an unbiased manner. Lots of fallacies and unsupported conclusions here folks. Grab some popcorn, a soda, and maybe a scratch pad and a pen or two and start taking notes. This is how people misuse science to try to trick others into changing their beliefs pertaining to a social issue! Don't be fooled by the brain-imaging demonstration. The conclusions asserted in this "documentary" are not supported by the evidence. It's a little smoke and mirrors trick that most people will fall for if they don't think carefully through the logic (or lack there of) behind the arguments made to support the erroneous conclusions.

The brain imagery data is more relevant to addictions in general than to porn in particular. Porn is just one of many things people can become addicted to. A very small percentage of people suffer addiction to porn or shoplifting or gambling or any of those vice type of behaviors. Those that do already have issues and the porn, shoplifting, or gambling is not the issue. Pretending that porn has a bad effect on everybody or all teenagers is just pure BS. It's the kind of propaganda that anti-porn people like to spread and it's important that all of us recognize that kind of fallacious, erroneous, flawed, misleading, or just plain false argument so that we don't get fooled by those wishing to mislead us!

Revenge Porn King Arrested By FBI
The list of thing this guy did is pretty appalling. It's a good thing he got caught. I don't have anything against pornography, but it shouldn't be used in a negative way.

mrgreen: Great post! I find the interest people have in porn fascinating. Some of the stuff people watch is so bizarre that it's hard not to laugh. Most porn is more amusing than arousing and so I look at it as a form of comedy. Nothing to get offended by, just some slightly twisted entertainment that's a bit humorous.

desertrat: I don't really care why people look at it. I just see it as a freedom of speech or freedom of expression issue. There is no reason not to allow the production of porn and there are lots of different reasons for looking at it. More choice means more freedom!

Pornhub: We can predict elections
Nothing too surprising here, but it is interesting that the statistical correlations are so strong.

It's interesting that values cluster as much as they do. I'm sure the associations change over time, but it seems sometimes that people allow their beliefs and attitudes to be molded to fit stereotypes a little too much. In other words, people are a little to easily influenced by peers and media and other forms of social pressure, and not as unique and individualistic as we think.
