A Glimmer of Hope for the Future?
This gets posted to the Obesity thread because of the bit about Sports Illustrated featuring a 300-pound beached whale on its cover.

ergot: 300-pound beached whale? That's kind of funny considering all the flack Sports Illustrated has gotten in recent years over the annual swimsuit issues. It almost seems like some kind of statement would be made by such a cover. SJWs have ruined so many good things in this society and now instead of seeing beautiful women in bikinis we see beached whales instead. I guess that's what SJWs call progress....

With obesity being one of the preexisting conditions leading to severe issues with COVID-19, I wonder how many over-weight people will start considering modifications to their eating habits. Developing an exercise routine might help, but they say that ninety percent of weight management depends upon decreasing caloric input and that exercise can only defray that with marginal increases in caloric output. For instance, an hour of intense exercise might burn six hundred or so calories, but not eating a six hundred calorie dessert takes far less effort.

Food Supply Issues Means U.S. Can No Longer Sustain Entire Country Being Morbidly Obese
The USA is the land of the free and any trip you make to Walmart will make clear the freedom Americans hold most dear: THE RIGHT TO BE FAT AND LAZY! Not everyone cherishes this freedom, but just looking at people as they waddle through the aisles at Walmart is proof enough that the majority of patriotic Americans do consider THE FREEDOM TO BE FAT AND LAZY something worth stuffing themselves full of junk food for.
Fear of this disaster has already caused the hoarding of Twinkies, Häagen-Dazs, and canned gravy. President Trump, though, is telling citizens not to worry. “No one is losing a single pound while I’m president,” Trump promised. “If we have to, we’ll open up our National Nacho Cheese Sauce Reserve.”

There's no point in sugar-coating the truth. If you're fat, then you're fat and you need to lose weight!

Is the Obesity Paradox Real or a Myth?
Bad research study design can lead to misinformation. Scientists need to be careful to control for all relevant factors when doing research.

Obesity Isn't Real...Unironically
The obesity epidemic is real and it's not even slightly surprising that there are halfwits who will go to great lengths to deny its existence.
