Web Series Reaches 100 Views
I'm pretty sure that this is how it goes for most people with dreams of fame and fortune who post videos on YouTube or Facebook or some other social networking and/or video sharing site!

YouTube offers creators free use of production facility
To qualify your channel must have at least 10,000 subscribers and an average of 100,000 views per month, so it's not exactly available to just anyone. But if the bar wasn't set this high there would be too many people wanting to use this facility.

YouTube News: More Paid Channels, Live Streams & Play Icons on Tabs
Most of the really big channels on YouTube have a huge teen audience. It's not likely that teens will subscribe to a pay channel and so I don't think paid channels will work on YouTube. The one example of a paid channel that is working is Sesame Street and obviously it's parents of young children who pay for that subscription. So, logically it would make sense to target that demographic when it comes to paid channels, but even at that there is so much free content that it would be next to impossible to persuade viewers to opt for a paid subscription. The other approach that could work is if a group of channels popular with a single demographic decided to work together, but even that might not work since it might be seen as a form of blackmail or some kind of conspiracy by the audience.

YouTube ups the ante on production
More on that big facility in Los Angeles. Only a few YouTubers actually qualify to use it, but it's something for smaller YouTubers to work towards.

Tips to help make your videos go viral
Interesting analysis of videos that go viral. It seems that the most important thing to do is to catch the attention of someone who is influential. Once you make it over that hurdle your chances of world domination are pretty good!

That Ohio State performance is pretty impressive, but at at the same time I'm scratching my head and asking why!!! While it is kind of neat, it also seems like a big waste of time. Do college kids really have that much time on their hands? Shouldn't they be doing something more intellectually demanding? I suppose it's better than getting drunk at a party, but not by much! Geez!
