Peg - Steely Dan - The Making Of
I've heard of bands slapping together an album in a matter of days, but these guys spent more time than that on a single song. They took meticulousness to extremes with this song. They went through seven guitarists just to get the solo and then there's the nuance they were after with the vocals. It paid off with an extremely memorable song, but it took a lot of work to get there!

Thanks ergot for bringing up this band in another thread!

Jury: No copyright infringement in Led Zeppelin case
Like the musicologist says there are only so many notes that can be rearranged in only so many ways and so it's inevitable that things overlap and sound similar, but on top of that a very similar riff goes back to an Italian composer in the 1600s. So, the party claiming to be the originator of the riff was actually guilty of doing to somebody else what he claimed that Led Zeppelin had done to him.

Jury: Led Zeppelin Did Not Lift Guitar Riff From Spirit Song
The jury clearly returned to correct verdict. This case should never have gone to a hearing. The songs are somewhat similar during the intro portion only. The Led Zep song goes through many changes and to on top of that many people have pointed out that the portions of the songs that are similar are also similar to previous songs going back to the 16th century. This was a no-brainer to begin with, but lots of money was wasted in an effort to reach the obvious conclusion.

Led Zeppelin - Celebration Day
Ankle-biter plagiarism claims shouldn't be given the dignity of a court hearing. What a colossal waste of time and money!

There seems to be a double standard with plagiarism when it comes to rap music.

Mick Jagger to be a Dad, Again
At 72 years old what are the chances that he's still alive when the kid turns 18?
