In fact, the tuning stumped Pete Townsend (The Who) and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and they had to make a phone call to the songwriter for help!!!

torn80: That's an interesting story. You'd think that two guitar greats would have the experience to recognize most any commonly used tuning. I hear that the Velvet Underground also used that particular tuning several times. Very appropriate considering the subject matter of the song.
