Russian Trump Zhirinovsky slams Obama: Crybaby, Go Away to Hawaii and Play Golf!
Our leaders and our news media like to pretend that Putin runs everything in Russia. Part of the reason that people here in the USA take such a stupid assertion seriously is the utter and complete lack of familiarity we have with politicians in Russia. When you start to become familiar with who's who in Russian politics, you begin to realize how fundamentally similar our government is to the government in Russia or vice versa. Ignorance is the only reason that anyone takes seriously gross over-simplifications such as the common assertion that every decision made in Russia has to be approved by Putin, which is something that Obama more or less said just a couple weeks ago.
BTW, Putin is a moderate compared to this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Zhirinovsky

SNL praises Nazis, belittles Russian role in defeating Hitler, is oblivious
Anything for a joke up to a point, but maligning the nation that defeated the Nazis is simply going too far. Russia lost 25 MILLION people in WWII and without Russia all of Europe would have been overrun by Germany. There's a point where disrespect has gone too far and stupidity is no excuse.

Putin: "I am not your friend, I am the President of Russia"
Putin has a very straight forward way of expressing himself. I respect that.

Putin visits his former KGB boss on his 90th birthday
Very cool of Putin to visit his old boss. I don't care what anyone says, the KGB was no worse than our FBI. In fact, they might not have been nearly as bad.

Russophobia?

New questions about Kushner's alleged plan for back channel Communications with Russia
More hype over nothing. Normal communications spun to sound like sinister plotting. An ambassador portrayed as a spy. Mainstream news is out of touch with reality and afraid of the wrong things.

Zakharova blasts CNN smear campaign against rumored ‘spy’ - Russia’s envoy to Washington
It's necessary to listen to many points of view and with a complete picture it's not that hard to figure out who is lying. Get educated on the issues and the lies become transparent. Here are a couple people you should know about in order to even have a clue about what's being discussed.
Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova (Russian: Мария Владимировна Захарова; born 24 December 1975) is the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Sergey Ivanovich Kislyak (Russian: Серге́й Ива́нович Кисля́к; born 7 September 1950) is a Russian diplomat who has served as Russia's Ambassador to the United States since 2008.

desertrat: Most people don't want to do any homework. Heck, they don't even bother watching CNN or ABC or FOX. They just hear something about Russia which filters down from friends who only watch mainstream news and they believe it without question. Many people have asserted that democracies eventually fall apart and this lack of understanding and knowledge is the fundamental flaw with democracy.

Ultimately we get what we, as a people, deserve. Some of us check multiple sources, but the vast majority of the public is poorly informed and makes no effort to become informed. The mainstream news media makes things worse since it acts as more of a propaganda dispersing machine, than as a system to report news. Uncovering the lies told by CNN, ABC, FOX, MSNBC, etc. takes work. However, it's surprisingly easy to discover their lies since they do such a poor job of lying. Apparently, they figure, WHY BOTHER, PEOPLE BARELY PAY ATTENTION ANYWAYS!

There was some kind of fake news report on one of the major news networks warning people in the USA not to use Kaspersky anti-virus software since the company is based in Moscow. If that's not an expression of anti-Russian sentiment, then I don't know what is. Probably Kaspersky Labs should file some kind of lawsuit since it seems clear that the corporate news is damaging Kaspersky's reputation with the intention of drumming up business for anti-virus companies that are based in the USA.

Trump mulls ending Russia's hacking punishment
This is a good idea, but the democrats are likely to oppose it.
