MojaveMike: Such a unique course, but the expense of maintenance is nothing compared to that of a real golf course. It is a neat place, but it would be wrong to charge more than five bucks.

Adam's Adventures: Fossil Falls!
Most of us have probably been here, but this is still a fun clip. It was posted by the ABC news affiliate in Bakersfield.

The Corrs - Breathless (Official Music Video)
This video was shot at Trona Airport (TRH) in Inyo County on 24 May 2000. I can't say it's the best video ever made in the area and so I suggest if you decide to watch it to play it at double speed. It's not quite so boring that way.

YouTube is getting stingy with videos and so here are links to two slightly different versions of the video:

tronagirl: After listening to about a minute of that song I started to hear the Laverne and Shirley theme song in my head. There's a lot of similarity between the songs.

drdesert: I defintely hear the similarities. Not sure how deep the resemblance goes, but it's probably not a copyright sort of thing although a stronger case could be made here than in some of the famous cases we've seen in recent years. I'm thinking of the Marvin Gaye case in particular.

Ghost Towns & Mines: St. George Mine, CA 2019
Snow Canyon is south of the Minnietta Cabin and north of Wood Canyon. The road is pretty good, but conditions vary depending on recent weather.

My favorite local site is Reilly. It's located a couple miles west of Nadeau Road. The turn off is just a mile or so in from the highway. The waterline can be followed from Reilly to Water Canyon or vice versa if a short hike is what you want. There are several mines in the area, but the main attraction are the old stone structures. The info on the area is a little sparse, but just wondering around for an hour or so at the site is a nice way to spend an afternoon when the weather isn't too hot.
