Scientists studying psychoactive drugs accidentally proved the self is an illusion
Okay, so this some major BS, but it fits in with the whole psilocybin scene.
Consider a study of 75 subjects, published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology last October. The study concluded that psilocybin leads to mystical experiences that can have long-term psychological benefits in conjunction with meditation training. The greater the drug dosage, the more potent the positive psychological effect was six months later. “Participants showed significant positive changes on longitudinal measures of interpersonal closeness, gratitude, life meaning/purpose, forgiveness, death transcendence, daily spiritual experiences, religious faith and coping,” the study concluded.

The hippies up in nocal love those things. Shrooms are known to grow well on cow patties, but they need plenty of moisture. There are even tutorials on the interwebs that will tell you all about psilocybin and cow dung and the hows and wheres and whys and all that!

You Didn’t Know Mushrooms Could Do All This :stirpot:
Welcome to the fascinating world of fungi! Some are edible. Some are medicinal. Some have other potential uses. But don't forget that some are poisonous.... but still in some way potentially useful!

ergot: Joe Rogan does a good job getting interesting guests to appear on his show and it's funny how often the topic of drugs gets discussed on his show. Anyone else notice that the number for this topic is 666? That's a strange coincidence if I've ever seen a strange coincidence!

drdesert: Funny coincidence. It would have been even better if the topic had been something about the end of times or something like that. But some people do consider magic mushrooms to be sinister and mysterious and so as far as topics go it kind of fits in.

Your Brain On Shrooms :smokin:
Many people claim to have profoundly spiritual experiences while under the influence of magic mushrooms. Even subjects in a clinical study claimed to have gained incredible spiritual insights. All that from a little mushroom, possibly growing on a cow turd! What a trip!!!

Mushrooms are like the little devils and angels you see on cartoon characters' shoulders. Some of them tempt you to do something you probably shouldn't do and others steer you in the right direction.
