Trona Pinnacles

Lost In Space chariot at the Trona Pinnacles
I never did like this show back in the 1960s, but it does feature the Pinnacles and so that makes it at least a little bit interesting!

Lots of good info in that old thread! I saw a list of shows and movies that included Star Trek, Plantet of the Apes, Lost in Space, as well as a few others. I know a lot of people stop by to check out the Pinnacles when visiting the area and there is a fair amount of camping there too even thought there is not water or much if anything in the way of facilities.

2015 Big Game Commercial – Jack in the Box: “Legendary” (Full-length) :bubble:
This commercial kind of bounces around between Lone Pine and Trona mostly, but there are a lot of shots of the Pinnacles in there!

When some relatives and I drove on the highway by the turnoff to the Pinnacles one of my nieces thought we said Trona Pineapples. We all got a good laugh out of that one. Imagine that, a bunch of 60 foot tall pineapples out in the middle of the desert!

twister: Actually I've heard a couple kids joke before about the Trona Pinnacles being called the Trona Pineapples. It's always good for a grin and a giggle as they say. I've also heard someone call the high school teams the Trona Tomatoes instead of the Trona Tornadoes. Having giant tomatoes as mascots would definitely be good for a laugh! LOL

Eerie & Spooky Places: Trona Pinnacles (Eastern California)
Not sure what's so eerie or spooky about the Pinnacles, but there is some good footage of the train chugging by the Pinnacles. BTW, the dipstick who posted the video disabled playback on outside websites and so you'll have to click the video to watch.

Official Trona Trailer
Another crappy movie filmed at the Pinnacles. Two guys get stranded near the Pinnacles and they're too damn stupid to walk back to the highway for help!

MØ - Final Song (Official Video)
Not the greatest song in the world, in fact, it's kind of mediocre, but it was at least in part filmed at the Trona Pinnacles. It also looks like part was filmed at Mono Lake and there were at least two other locations kind of thrown in together. Overall, the video is not very good, but I've seen worse.
