It makes sense to improve transportation infrastructure between Crimea and the rest of Russia. It would be an even better idea to annex eastern Ukraine!
(Okay, so I'm joking, but not completely. I think the people who live in east Ukraine would have a better life if they didn't have to deal with the hotheads in Kiev.)
The Russian government has decided to allocate 100 billion rubles ($1.5 billion) to building a highway connecting the capital of Crimea, Simferopol, to the town of Kerch, the Slon news website reported Monday. The highway, named Tavrida, is set to be opened by 2020.
